Welcome back!
Over the course of +35 years I have used a variety of social media to get the word out about Vermont Flower Farm and Gardens. Concurrent with our original website, https://vermontflowerfarm.com we began using the free blog software from Google named Blogspot. I also have posted regularly on a personal Facebook site, George Africa, which has a heavy concentration of flowers that we grow and sell. The posts also cover Vermont history, my trips to Maine, and detailed information about plant sources, propagation and sale both at the farm and by mail order. I also offer a Facebook business site, named Vermont Flower Farm and Gardens. For three years I wrote a monthly piece on perennials in the North Star Journal from nearby Danville, Vermont. Between these various media writings, gardeners could obtain a sound overview of plants that grow well in this temperate zone, and could find out where to buy them and how to grow them successfully.
The world of automation changes quicker that I do and recent changes in US politics has drawn some readers to new avenues. While I figure out where people from Vermont's Zones 3 and 4 have landed, I want to return to Blogspot while continuing with both Facebook sites. If you intend to continue reading these media opportunities, you will likely find some of my posts are redundant. Please bear with me while I sort things out. If there's an area of interest that you cannot find answers to, drop me a line and I will respond. In the interim, I hope you will continue to enjoy learning about Vermont Flower Farm and the plants that grow here along the Winooski River.
My first post of 2025 is a pass-down piece from Deleware's Mt. Cuba Center. Learn about different varieties of Vernonia. At our farm we grow and sell Vernonia noveboracensis (New York Ironweed) and Vernonia giganteum. Read on!
